Gaining Users to Gain Traction

Customers. Consumers. Buyers. Participants. Users.

Whatever you want to call them, no business can be complete without them. They are what drive any product or industry forward. They correct, complain, and critique. They determine, desire, and develop. They push every company to strive to be better.

At Fitalyst, our users are helping us create the next big thing!

A couple weeks ago, we began to gain users by tabling at different Penn Dining facilities and at Pottruck. After about two or three weeks of tabling, we felt as though we had exhausted those resources. Most recently, we turned to personally asking our close friends and acquaintances to join the pilot. This method has also been a huge success, as the response rate is high among friends. We’ve reached out through text message, Facebook messenger, Groupmes, and in person.

We realized that this is one of the hardest parts of a startup: gaining active users. You can have the best product in the world, but if no one is using it, then it is rendered useless.

As users are actively being acquired, we can start to stress test our product and our strategy. We have already sent out a couple initial surveys and have gotten positive feedback on the direction our startup is hoping to go. We have also asked questions about the design and about the features of the chatbot itself, which has been invaluable.

We are excited to continue gaining users and data so we can continuously make Fitalyst better for you!
