Last Updated: [March 23, 2026]
Fitalyst Dash ("Dash," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Dash
website, Chrome extension, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using Dash, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: such as your name and email address.
- Calendar Information: such as a calendar URL or calendar link that you choose to provide in order to use Dash features.
- Usage and Engagement Information: such as information about how you interact with Dash, including feature usage, settings, productivity interactions, and general engagement analytics.
- User Preferences and Settings: such as selected themes, countdown timers, emotional reflections, and task breakdowns.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Dash does not collect full browsing history, page content from websites you visit,
passwords, payment card information, health information, or web browsing activity.
Dash does not use the Chrome extension to track your activity across websites.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information in the following ways:
- Directly from you: when you create an account, provide your email, name, or calendar link, or update your preferences.
- Automatically through your use of Dash: when you interact with the extension, homepage, or related services, we may collect usage and engagement analytics.
- From extension functionality: some settings and preferences may be stored locally in your browser or saved to Dash systems, as applicable.
4. Chrome Extension Permissions
Dash uses a limited set of Chrome extension permissions to provide its functionality:
-
storage: used to save user preferences and settings, such as selected themes,
countdown timers, emotional reflections, and task breakdowns, so the personalized Dash experience
remains consistent across browsing sessions.
-
activeTab: used to display the Dash new tab homepage correctly when a user opens
a new browser tab. Dash does not use this permission to track browsing activity or collect data from
the websites a user visits.
-
Host or backend access permissions: used only to securely connect to Dash’s own
servers and APIs in order to fetch user data, such as deadlines and settings, and to save user preferences.
These connections are not used to collect data from unrelated websites.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Dash and its features;
- Personalize the user experience;
- Display deadlines, reminders, and relevant productivity information;
- Save and sync settings and preferences;
- Monitor usage, engagement, and performance of the Services;
- Provide support, troubleshoot issues, and protect the security of our Services;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
6. How We Store and Handle Information
Information may be stored locally in your browser through Chrome extension storage
or stored in Dash systems in the United States, as applicable to the feature you use.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to
protect personal information. For example, we use secure connections and restrict access
to information where appropriate. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure,
and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. How We Share Information
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With cloud hosting providers that help us operate and store Dash data;
- With analytics providers that help us understand product performance and usage trends;
- With support staff or educational institutions, where applicable, for purposes related to student support, engagement, and usage data;

- When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Dash, our users, or others;
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active, for as long as needed
to provide the Services, and as otherwise necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes.
We may delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may have the ability to:
- Access, update, or correct certain account information;
- Request deletion of your account or personal information;

from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13
without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information.
11. FERPA and Educational Context

support schools and students consistent with applicable educational privacy obligations, including FERPA where applicable.
Users should also review any privacy notices or agreements provided by their educational institution.
